I’ve been teaching A-Level Accounting for seven years, mainly working with students who find the subject straightforward in class but lose marks in exams. I spend a lot of time on financial statements, incomplete records and getting the workings laid out properly. Past papers are a regular part of my lessons, and I like students to understand where each figure comes from rather than simply learning a method.

Hi! I’m an A-Level Accounting tutor with a background in audit and around four years of tutoring experience. I particularly enjoy teaching double-entry and reconciliation because once those basics click, quite a lot of the course becomes easier. My sessions are fairly relaxed, but we do plenty of questions. I’m also a bit fussy about workings because clear presentation can save a surprising number of marks.

Before moving into tutoring, I worked in corporate accounting, preparing management reports and reviewing financial records. I now teach A-Level Accounting and bring some of that practical experience into lessons, particularly when covering ratios, budgeting and business decisions. For exam preparation, I usually work through a paper with the student first, then use their mistakes to decide what we revise next.
